According to SFC Ernesto Lozano, the main job of the Army Medical Trailer is to show the students the medical capabilities that the Army provides. “We have several medical field that student can be interested in,” Lozano said. “This include Dental, Veterinary, Nurse, Medical and Radical Specialist medical service corps, that the students can be interested in.” According to Lozano, the army trailer offers good information about the different options students have after graduating high school. “It’s a vision from the future,” Lozano said. “Maybe it will help the students picture themselves being a part of the Army.” Senior Landon McNaspy considered joining the National Guard, but decided to join the Army. “The Army has a lot more benefits,” McNaspy said. “It offers you a job so you don’t have to worry about going to school and having a job.” Sophomore Ashlee Schmidt already had in mind her future plans. “The Army Medical Trailer helped me make my career decision more accurate,” Schmidt said. “I don’t think I would join the army, but I am sure I would want to study something in the medical field.” Junior Garrett Kirsch said the trailer provided him with a lot of information about the different medical fields the army has to offer. “The trailer really explained to me all the different opportunities I could have if I joined the Army.” Kirsch said According to Schmidt, the trailer provided information that helped her friends decide whether or not to join the Army. SSG Paul Alon said the Army has the opportunity to come to the Houston area only once a year.
