On Thursday, May 20 choir held their annual pop show. According to junior Hannah Thomas, this special event showcased various talents.

“Pop show is an opportunity to show off your voice, how much you’ve grown between the years and to have fun with the music,” Thomas said.

Students centrifuge, mix chemicals and separate substances. The teacher walks around the classroom making sure students are doing all of these things correctly. It is the end-of-the-year qualitative lab in chemistry.

On May 6-8, drafting students participated in the state Technology Student Association competition in Waco. This competition covers science, technology, engineering and mathematics and includes two areas of competition, projects and on-site contests.

This year’s percussion concert, the first to feature the drumline and new percussion teacher Lamar Burkhalter, was held May 11 in the school auditorium.

 Seniors Alicia Brighton, Joseph Goodwin, Ashley Irving, Clayton Smith and Lindy Truong received the Houston Endowment Scholarship.
